Role Purpose
The Business Development Representative (BDR) is a pivotal contributor to Moneycorp’s UK sales team, responsible for identifying and initiating high-value opportunities. This role is centred on engaging senior financial stakeholders such as CFOs, Finance Directors, and Treasury leads through structured outreach activity.
Operating within a longer sales cycle, the BDR must be commercially ambitious. Success in this role hinges on the ability to originate and qualify opportunities with precision, aligning them to Moneycorp’s structured go-to-market methodology and bespoke solution design based on customer needs. Working closely with Sales, Marketing, and Revenue Operations teams, the BDR will drive lead generation campaigns through multiple touch points (email, phone, social media, events) that drive pre-qualified pipeline.
Key to the role is a deep understanding of market sales triggers and the characteristics of an ideal client profile (ICP). The BDR must apply strategic thinking to develop and drive tailored sales processes and pitches, efficiently triaging leads into appropriate pathways. A strong background in high growth environments with complex SaaS products, FX or financial services is preferred.
Key Responsibilities
Targeted Origination:
- Identify and source leads from key verticals (e.g, Retail, Manufacturing, Tech) that fit target client criteria and develop sector expertise
- Supported by Sales, Marketing and Revenue Operations, build highly personalised outreach campaigns aligned to FX exposure, cost base, and risk complexity
- Use sales and origination tools and platforms (e.g. Apollo, ZoomInfo, Pitchbook, and LinkedIn Sales Navigator) and sector reports to build insight-led approaches
- Execute regular daily contact cadences using targeted messaging, economic insights, and sector insights to increase qualified leads
Advanced Qualification:
- Qualify leads against strategic ICP criteria
- Conduct introductory calls to uncover pain points, decision-making structures, urgency, and buying processes
- Proficient use of Customer Relationship Management software (e.g. MS Dynamics, SalesForce)
- Converts and/or handover qualified opportunities to Account Executives with detailed discovery summaries and CRM updates
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Partner with Account Executives and Heads of Sales to map accounts, execute multi tread outreach strategies (across target client buying champions and decision makers), and co-plan outbound efforts
- Be part of deal sales team that supports key deals through pipeline to close
- Work with Marketing team to develop and run sector specific sales campaigns. Track campaign outcomes and support Marketing in Account-Based Marketing (ABM) initiatives
- Collaborate with Revenue Operations and enablement teams to refine messaging, validate ICPs, measure return, keep CRM and data updated, and streamline process handovers
What We’re Looking For
- 2+ years in B2B origination roles within complex products with longer sales cycles
- Highly numeric and ambitious, with clear focus on achieving commercial targets
- Knowledge of foreign exchange and international payments is preferred but not mandatory
- Understanding of strategic or enterprise selling
- Proficient in telephony-based outreach and equipped with exceptional written communication skills to effectively engage complex and senior stakeholders across diverse industries
- Skilled in insight-driven sales messaging and strategic campaign building
Please note: This is a full-time, permanent position with an opportunity to work on a hybrid basis within our Strategic Sales team in our London office.
